In 1987, American Honda commissioned fabrication experts (and twin brothers) Darrell and Darrick Contreras to create a race header for a 1988 Honda CRX racecar. Utilizing technology and quality control ahead of its time for most small fabricators, the brother’s attention to detail and commitment to performance with this system was not overlooked by Honda, who asked them to develop competition headers for other applications. This chance opportunity for the Contreras brothers marked the beginning of DC Sports.

Throughout the 1990s, DC Sports became synonymous with Honda and Acura performance by expanding its products to include street-legal and competition headers, exhaust systems, strut braces, short shifters and accessories. Through a combination of leading-edge manufacturing procedures designed specifically for the company’s processes and a strict adherence to quality control, DC Sports became the brand of choice for Honda/Acura racers.

All DC Sports products are dyno-tested on the company’s Dynapack Chassis Dynamometer and Dynamic Testing Systems Dyno, and are guaranteed to deliver more power than the competition. Leading edge equipment including robotic plasma cutters and robotic welders, CNC mills, lathes and benders ensure consistent quality control and perfect fitment with every product.

2004 marks a dramatic turning point in the direction of DC Sports, as AEM (advanced Engine Management) acquired the business of DC Sports Inc. This acquisition brings together two of the pioneer sport compact manufacturers, who collectively deliver products with unmatched performance from air filter to exhaust tip and everything in between!

DC Sports strives to continually provide our customers with the best Honda and Acura products available. From headers, exhaust, adjustable billet cam gears, billet short shifters, strut tower bar and strut bars. Over the past 15 years, continuous improvements to their manufacturing methods and upgrades to our facilities have helped them meet this goal. DC Sports knows that making the best parts for your car doesn't happen by accident - it is a multi-stop process. To make your installation easier, each part is shipped with instructions and all the necessary hardware.

Research and Development Department starts new part designs are created with each specific car model in mind to ensure a proper fit. Next, a prototype is carefully constructed, dyno tested and refined to make sure you get the most performance possible. When this is complete, fixtures are built and delivered to the Production Facility to ensure continued high-quality. Finally, the first production parts are built and returned to the R&D Dept. for a final test-fit installation on the correct model car.

And because DC Sports builds a quality product, they stand behind it with a two-year warranty against defects in workmanship and materials. In addition to performance, quality fit and ease of installation, all their emission related parts are street-legal. They test all emission-related parts on their 3-gas analyzer to ensure each is emission-friendly, then they have them tested at an independent laboratory for confirmation. All of this design and testing has helped them earn the California Air Resources Board (CARB) "exempt" status. This means that each component bearing the correct CARB exemption number is legal for use on pollution controlled vehicles. (Or more simply, no problems at smog check time!) Above all else, you can count on them, before and after a purchase.

	Making power is what the 4-1 header is all about. The 4-1 is designed from utilizing all the information from DC Sports extensive dyno testing. DC Sports R&D Department was able to design a 4-1 header that makes the most power of any 4-1 header on the market. The DC Sports 4-1 header pulls strong from 4000 rpm all the way to redline without losing any power down low. All 4-1 headers use the new lightweight flanges on both the head flange and the collector flange along with mandrel bent tubing, a merge collector and as always the 4-1 header is CARB Exempt. CNC-machined flanges, 12-14 horsepower, hardware and instructions included.
	Constructed from ceramic coated mandrel bent mild steel the DC Sports 4-2-1 One-Piece Header maintains a high standard. DC Sports headers are dyno tested resulting in maximum horsepower and efficiency. The one-piece header eliminates the two middle flanges making the header lighter and giving it a cleaner look. To help lighten up the header their new lightweight flanges are used on both the head flange and the collector flange. CNC-machined flanges ensure a perfect fit every time. 12-14 horsepower, mandrel bent tubing, hardware and instructions included.
	The 4-2-1 Two-Piece Header are constructed from ceramic coated mandrel bent mild steel. Designed to stand up to the harshest conditions you can subject it to and provide you with the most power from any street legal header on the market. DC Sports headers are dyno tested resulting in maximum horsepower and efficiency. The two-piece header is designed for ease of installation with a factory like fit. CNC-machined flanges ensure a perfect fit every time. Mandrel bent tubing, 12-14 horsepower, CNC-machined flanges, CARB exempt, hardware and instructions included for easy installation.
